A 35-year-old woman was strangled to death, allegedly by her husband, at Kenichira near Panamaram in Wayanad district on Monday (April 14, 2025). The victim was identified as Manchira Lisha.

Her husband Jilson, 42, who attempted to kill himself after the alleged murder was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The incident took place early in the morning. Their two children were also there at home.

Police sources said it was some financial issues that led to the shocking incident. The woman was strangled to death using a charging cable, they said.

It was a group of local people who took Jilson to hospital after noticing some strange social media messages from him. There were deep cuts on his wrist, the sources said.
