A Britney Spears biopic based on her best-selling memoir, ‘The Woman in Me‘, is in the works at Universal Pictures. Jon M. Chu will be directing it. In an interview at the Golden Globes earlier this month, Jon revealed that Britney will be ‘very involved’ in the project.

“I’ve been a fan since I was young,” said Jon. The filmmaker added that he’s eager to do her story justice. But who will play Britney Spears? According to insiders who spoke to Life and Style magazine, Britney wants to pick the right actress for the role. Reportedly, Selena Gomez and Natalie Portman are at the top of her wishlist.

According to the insider, “Britney adores Portman and thinks she’s such an incredible actress, she’d love to see her cast and thinks with the right make-up artist she could easily be performed. The same goes for Selena Gomez. She’s someone Britney loves as a person and as an artist, she thinks she’s mighty talented and knows she’d also have her own history as a child star to draw on, which would make things easier.”

However, fans are not happy about it. A fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote, “Neither of them look anything like her.” Another fan commented, “Girl what?” “Natalie would work if she was younger. Selena doesn’t work in any way possible. Her body, face, and voice, a complete mismatch,” wrote a fan. Another fan expressed disappointment saying, “Def not.”

So, who will play the role? Only time will tell us.
