Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ was released worldwide on July 26, 2024. The Shawn Levy directorial film brought back characters from previous superhero films. We saw Jennifer Garner return as Elektra, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Chris Evans as Human Torch, and Wesley Snipes as Blade among others.

Apart from the great cameos, the latest MCU film also featured multiple variants of Deadpool and Wolverine. The movie showed Reynolds and Jackman fighting and killing Deadpool variants, and Deadpool jumping from universe to universe and meeting many versions of Wolverine. Henry Cavill as a Wolverine variant was the most shocking one.

Before Deadpool & Wolverine‘s release, there were rumours of Daniel Radcliffe being offered a ‘secret role’ in the film. Some reports claimed that he might appear as one of the Wolverine variants. His muscular transformation added fuel to the fire. However, after the film was released, the reports turned out to be false.

Addressing the rumours, Daniel told The Vanity Fair, “I got buff because I am obsessive and I want to, you know. You’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people. So, that’s just has been passed on. But no, no Wolverine. Flaterred, but no.”

Earlier this year, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also clarified that Daniel was never offered a part. “I don’t think that ever came up. It was a rumour that flew all over, but I don’t think Daniel Radcliffe was ever considered,” said Reese.

On the work front, Daniel was last seen as Weird AI in ‘Weird: The AI Yankovic Story‘.
