Vivo has officially announced the specifications of its forthcoming V-series flagship, the V50. Upon its release in India, the V50 will succeed the V40 model, which was introduced in the country alongside the V40 Pro in August 2024.

Following numerous speculations, Vivo has opted to disclose most of the details regarding its upcoming premium smartphone through its official website, although certain aspects such as the processor and charging speed remain undisclosed.

The landing page also showcases the device’s aesthetic design and the color options that will be available at launch.

The design of the Vivo V50 closely resembles that of its predecessor but features a more rounded profile. A significant alteration in its design is evident in the display, which has transitioned from a dual-curved edge panel to a quad-curved panel.

This means that the display now curves slightly over the edges on all four sides, as opposed to just the left and right sides, as seen in the Vivo V40.

The device’s IP rating has been enhanced, now boasting an official IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. It will be offered in three color variants: Rose Red, Starry Blue, and Titanium Grey.

On the rear, the keyhole-shaped camera module remains unchanged, housing two cameras. According to the website, all three cameras are equipped with 50-megapixel sensors, which include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.

The Aura Light feature from Vivo is also included, appearing significantly larger than in the previous model.

Additional information provided on the landing page includes a 6,000mAh battery, Funtouch OS 15, and various AI and camera features that have recently been integrated into the company’s flagship model, the Vivo X200 Pro.

However, the specifics regarding its processor and charging speed have yet to be confirmed. A prior report indicated that the Vivo V50 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. Furthermore, another report suggests that the phone may launch in India on February 18.
