Vivo is reportedly set to introduce a new compact mid-range smartphone next year, which will be powered by a robust Dimensity 9 series chip, feature a 6.31-inch display, and boast remarkable camera capabilities. This information has been shared by the Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station.

It is anticipated that this model will belong to Vivo’s S series, recognized for its combination of style and performance within the mid-range market. This initiative aims to attract users who favor compact devices without compromising on high-end specifications.

According to DCS, the smartphone is expected to incorporate an 8T LTPO display with a resolution of 1.5K, resulting in an approximate pixel density of 460ppi, which will provide sharp and clear visuals for both text and images. Regarding the camera setup, the device is likely to feature a prominent 50-megapixel main sensor, along with a telephoto lens, enhancing the versatility of the photography experience.

For reference, this year’s S20 Pro is equipped with a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, the phone will utilize a new silicon anode battery, ensuring substantial capacity despite its compact design. The forthcoming Vivo smartphone shares several key specifications with the recently unveiled Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which has garnered attention for its small size and premium features.

Launched in October, the X200 Pro Mini includes a 6.31-inch 1.5K display, a camera system featuring a 50-megapixel Zeiss main camera, a 50-megapixel super telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. It is powered by the Dimensity 9400 chip and is equipped with a substantial 5700mAh battery.

The tipster has also indicated that the new device may be launched in the second quarter of next year, specifically between April and June. As Vivo continues to broaden its product range, this new compact model could address a need in the mid-range market, providing a harmonious blend of performance, design, and battery longevity.
