Toyota, one of the world’s largest and most renowned automobile manufacturers, remains committed to delivering exceptional quality and reliability. The brand prioritizes providing consumers with the best possible experience, focusing on superior mileage and performance. With an extensive network across the UAE, Toyota stands out among its competitors by offering outstanding sales and service facilities. Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Toyota & Lexus UAE, shared these insights in an exclusive interview with Mashable Middle East.

“We are the market leader, renowned for our brand and its legacy. Since the 1950s, the market has been exceptionally favorable for us, and the Land Cruiser has become synonymous with the Middle East. You can’t imagine a desert without a Land Cruiser. Our focus has always been on delivering top-notch quality and reliability. Our vehicles excel in terms of mileage and performance, making them highly dependable. Customers know they will be well taken care of,” Brent noted.

“Our products not only deliver exceptional performance but also come with compelling stories that are well presented, further adding to their appeal,” he mentioned.

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry across different regions worldwide, he has worked with numerous leading automakers. Reflecting on his first car, he shared that it was a beach buggy, perfectly suited for his upbringing in a coastal area.

Taking discussion further towards EV revolution and about the when the company is expected to launch EV in the market, Brent highlighted that Toyota has invested considerable time and effort in advancing hybrid technology, viewing it as a crucial step toward the transition to fully electric vehicles (EVs).

“Toyota has dedicated significant time and effort to developing hybrid technology as a pathway toward fully electric vehicles (EVs). With over 20 million hybrids sold globally, we have also introduced EV platforms and are continually exploring EV solutions tailored to the UAE market. When the time and product are right, we are committed to bringing EVs to the market. As a brand renowned for durability and reliability, we aim to introduce vehicles in the UAE that meet local requirements and exceed expectations,” Brend added.

Discussing the challenges EVs may encounter in the UAE, he highlighted the impact of the country’s hot climate.

“Given the region’s unique climate, certain vehicles, particularly EVs, may face challenges. It is, therefore, crucial to engineer products specifically designed for the environment to deliver the best possible consumer experience,” he said.

Taking more on barriers when it comes to the launch of electric vehicles (EVs), primarily on the cost side and concerns surrounding range and infrastructure. He said, addressing these challenges requires advancements in charging infrastructure to resolve range issues. However, as more EVs enter the market, pricing has improved, and many of these barriers are gradually being removed. Thanks to enhanced infrastructure, particularly the availability of public charging stations, significant changes are expected by the end of the decade.

Brent also highlighted the future of tech in car. He said, while EVs and electrification are gaining attention, the most significant advancements are in connectivity. The goal is to create a seamless transition between home and car, where everything you do at home is reflected in your car. Features such as syncing your phone’s activities directly to your car’s screen ensure a smooth and connected experience for users.

Regarding the expansion plans, he noted that the UAE market remains strong and robust. However, there are opportunities to enhance our efforts further. “Our primary focus is to ensure we meet customer demand by delivering all the vehicles they need while continually improving the customer experience. Looking ahead, we are excited to introduce new products to the market next year,” Brent concluded.
