Two men hurt in Thursday knife fight in Saskatoon

A police investigation is underway in Saskatoon after at least two people were injured Thursday in a fight involving a machete and a knife.

Police were called around 9 a.m. about an injured person behind a building in the 600 block of 20th Street West.

Officers found a seriously injured 39-year-old man, who was taken to Royal University Hospital for treatment, police said in a news release on Friday.

Initial investigation found an altercation had happened “between several people,” the release said.

Later in the day, police were called to St. Paul’s Hospital, where a 45-year-old man had sought treatment for serious injuries. Police believe he was involved in the previous incident.
