Pop superstar Taylor Swift has officially become the richest female musician in the world. Yes, you’ve read it right. As of now, she has an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion. With this new milestone, Swift has surpassed another pop sensation Rihanna, whose net worth is $1.4 billion.

According to Forbes, Taylor is currently listed behind hip-hop icon Jay-Z ($2.5 billion). The ‘Love Story‘ singer, who reached the billionaire status in 2023, had a net worth increase following the success of her Eras Tour. She holds the record for the largest tour gross ever, netting over $2 billion for 125 shows, or approximately $16 million per show.

Apart from touring, Swift’s wealth comes from her catalog being valued at $600 million, an additional $600 million in royalties, and $125 million from her real estate investments. The singer is said to have made $100 million in royalties from Spotify streaming in 2023, due to her album ‘Midnights‘ and re-recording of ‘1989‘, ‘1989‘ (Taylor’s Version).”

The record for the world’s richest female musician was previously held by Rihanna. Though she hasn’t released an album since 2016’s ‘ANTI‘, Rihanna’s wealth comes from her successful cosmetics line Fenty Beauty, and her lingerie line Savage X Fenty.

In April this year, Rihanna opened up about her upcoming album and told Extra, “It’s gonna be amazing. It has to be – that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at.”

Coming back to Swift, she is currently busy with the Eras Tour, which will officially come to an end in December 2024.
