In a tragic turn of events, the 68-year-old man who went missing while skiing at Sun Peaks Resort earlier this week has been found dead, the RCMP confirmed Friday.

Tomasz Jaholkowski was last seen on Tuesday checking into a run on the mountain outside of Kamloops, B.C., and was reported missing Wednesday after he did not return to his hotel and nobody heard from him.

Search and rescue teams, ski patrol and police searched for the man using helicopters and drones.

The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP said Jaholkowski’s body was found “near an area of the ski resort.”

Police said no criminality is suspected in his death and the BC Coroners Service is investigating.
