The 46-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, the SIU said in a news release.

In an emailed statement to the Star Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Windsor Police Service confirmed that the SIU was leading the investigation and referred all further questions to the provincial police watchdog.
