In case you don’t know yet, Selena Gomez is a billionaire, thanks to her Rare Beauty Cosmetics line. The singer-actress opened up about being one of the richest celebrities on September 30 at the premiere of her new film, ‘Emilia Pérez’, at the New York Film Festival.

The Emmy-nominated actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight about being a billionaire and said that she’s ‘very grateful’. “I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money,” she added. Selena then credited those who brought her brand’s (Rare Beauty) products and making her ‘dream come true’. “I’m really honoured and just happy,” she added.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Selena has an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion. The actress’ major sources of income come from her beauty brand, followed by endorsements, her mental health startup Wondermind, albums, acting, and real estate.

Rare Beauty was founded by the singer in February 2019. In 2023, Gomez opened up about the success of her beauty brand and told Time Magazine, “I have this weird thing in my head, where if I focus on the numbers, I’ll lose whatever it is that made Rare Beauty Rare Beauty.”

On the work front, Gomez has been receiving praise for her performance in the Spanish musical ‘Emilia Pérez’, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Directed by Jacques Audiard, it also stars Zoe Saldaña and Édgar Ramírez.

For those who are waiting for her to release a new album soon, Gomez previously said that she’s focused on her acting career as of now. “I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting,” said Gomez on the Smartless Podcast.
