Saskatoon police investigating after man seriously hurt in stabbing

A 28-year-old man is in serious condition after a stabbing on Friday night in Saskatoon’s downtown area.

Around 10 p.m., police received a report of an injured person who had been stabbed in the leg, police said in a Tuesday news release.

Paramedics arrived a short time later after officers and took him to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

The suspect had fled before police arrived.

After some investigation, officers believe the stabbing happened near the intersection of 20th Street East and First Avenue South, the release said.

The serious assault team continues to investigate.
