“This is a moment when our city comes together and we’re excited to see children’s smiles and the joy it brings to families.”
The parade, which had been held on Wyandotte Street East in recent years, will proceed down Ouellette Avenue from Wyandotte Street to Riverside Drive and west to Caron Avenue.
“The Santa Claus Parade is a highlight for our downtown, a chance to celebrate, connect, and revel in the joy the holidays bring,” Ward 3 Coun. Renaldo Agostino said. “I’m thrilled to see downtown Windsor shine with holiday cheer.”
The beloved tradition will feature bands and other entertainment, a variety of floats and parade entries from local businesses, as well as an appearance by Santa Claus and his trusty elves.
Windsor’s Zachery Dereniowski, also known as MD Motivator on social media, will be this year’s parade grand marshal.
Dereniowski uses social media to create content highlighting the good in the world by giving away thousands of dollars and kicking off fundraising campaigns for people in need.
His TikTok, Instagram and other social media platforms have gained millions of followers.
