Police in New Brunswick have released the names of two people who were killed in Chipman, N.B., late last year.

Chipman RCMP received a report of two people inside a burning vehicle off Midland Road around 8 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2024.

When police arrived, officers found two bodies inside a white Chevrolet Equinox “that had been consumed by fire,” according to a news release.

The Major Crime Unit determined the deaths were homicides.

Police identified the victims as 47-year-old Robert Waugh and 23-year-old Victoria King, both from the Fredericton area.

Last month, police released a photo of a “vehicle of interest” in connection with the homicides.

The photo shows what is believed to be a red Toyota Corolla that was last seen in the Chipman area in the late evening of Nov. 24 and early morning hours of Nov. 25.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-7267.
