Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Monday Musings’ was all about self-reflection and a celebration of her awkward pre teen era. The Citadel diva took to Instagram to share her wild transformation from being a ‘cumbersome’ school-going kid in a ‘boy cut’ hairstyle to tasting her Miss India glory in a stunning throwback collage. But the photo comes with a warning, “Don’t troll my 9 year old self.”
The Bollywood beauty, who has also carved a niche for herself in Hollywood, looks completely unrecognisable in her tomboy look. “So wild to think about what puberty and grooming can do to a girl. On the left is me in my awkward pre teen era with a ‘Boy cut’ hairstyle so it wouldn’t be cumbersome at school,” said Priyanka while celebrating her pre teen era.
She thanked her mother before reflecting on how she went from an awkward tomboy to winning the Miss India pageant, “On the right is me at 17, having just won Miss India in the year 2000 and basking in the glory of hair, makeup and wardrobe.. Both pictures were taken less than a decade apart. As Britney Spears very articulately put it.. I’m not a girl, not yet a woman. That was exactly how I felt then, entering the big world of entertainment.”
It’s been almost 25 years since she has entered the showbiz world but Priyanka is “still figuring it out” her way. “Aren’t we all,” she asked before adding, “Looking back at my younger self often makes me kinder to myself today. Think about your younger self and how much she has done for you. Love yourself, you’ve gone through a lot to be where you are today.”
On a wise note, she left us to ponder over, “What did your younger self do for you?”
