Prince Harry released his memoir, Spare, in January 2023. The Duke of Sussex made several controversial revelations in his book. Reportedly, Harry revealed Kate ‘grimaced’ when Meghan borrowed her lip gloss.

The Duke of Sussex wrote in his book, “All this came on the heels of an awkward moment backstage. Meg asked to borrow Kate’s lip gloss. An American thing. Meg forgot hers, worried she needed some, and turned to Kate for help. Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube. Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced. Small clash of styles, maybe?”

Prince Harry further mentioned that the incident left ‘a little mark’ and that the press tried to turn it into ‘something bigger’.

According to TOI, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed that Kate was left disappointed after Prince Harry wrote about the incident and made it public. “The snide remarks about Kate in Spare, Harry broke the one rule and that is staying silent on family matters,” said Katie. She further mentioned that Kate was ‘upset’ and that Prince William was ‘angry’ about it.

Recently, Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday. The royal family’s official Instagram account shared a post wishing the Duke of Sussex on his birthday. Reportedly, Kate was the ‘driving force’ behind the royal family members wishing Harry on his birthday.
