President Droupadi Murmu to participate in first convocation of AIIMS Mangalgiri today

President of India, Droupadi Murmu will participate as the chief guest in the first convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Mangalagiri on Tuesday (December 17), the institute Director and CEO Dr. Madhabananda Kar told the media on Monday (December 16).  

Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister of State for Ayush and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Prataprao Jadav, A.P. Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav, Minister of Human Resources Development, IT, Electronics & Communication N. Lokesh will also participate in the programme.

The convocation will be organised at the institute’s auditorium from 12 noon to 1.30 p.m. The President of India will present gold medals to the student awardees and deliver the convocation address.

In total, 49 MBBS students and four post-doctoral certificate course students will receive their degrees.

Telangana visit from tomorrow

The President will also visit Telangana. During her stay, she will be hosted at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum, in Secunderabad.

On December 18, the President is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various initiatives at the Rashtrapati Nilayam. On December 20, she will present the President’s Colours to the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. She will host an ‘At Home’ reception at Rashtrapati Nilayam that evening. Dignitaries from the State and other prominent figures will participate in th eprogramme.
