Emergency crews were dispatched to the 2800 block of Riviera Drive at around 3:30 p.m. following a report of a collision.

A vehicle with flashing tail lights could be seen inside the home, with debris from the damaged front exterior scattered across the lawn.

As of 4:50 p.m., a section of the quiet residential street was closed off while the Windsor Police Service collision reconstruction and forensic identification units processed the scene.

Windsor and Fire Rescue Services firefighters and members of the Urban Search and Rescue Task Force assisted investigators with securing structural stability of the home.

“My wife heard the crash,” said a neighbour who has lived in the area for 40 years. “The vehicle went right through the (front of the) house.

“It’s usually a very quiet area. I don’t know what happened to the driver — it could have been a medical thing.”

Police have not yet confirmed whether the crash resulted in any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
