Ontario student robotics teams face off in Windsor

The University of Windsor’s Toldo Lancer Centre this weekend was packed with the top student minds in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), who gathered for the FIRST Robotics Windsor Essex Great Lakes competition.
The competition was a chance for high school students from across Ontario to show off their skills in front of employers who might hire them someday.

In the past, the competition has helped some local participants start their own businesses or connect with an employer.
Nine local teams and 20 others from across the province competed in the 10th annual Ontario District Great Lakes competition .
This year’s theme, ReefScape, asked teams to dive into real-world ocean problems and come up with smart designs for some of Earth’s most delicate ecosystems.
