OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro in China in January. A leak from tipster Digital Chat Station in December suggested that the company might release another Ace-branded smartphone to compete with the forthcoming Snapdragon 8s Elite devices.
Recently, a new leak from tipster Smart Pikachu has disclosed the anticipated launch period for this enigmatic device. The Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro currently available in China feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets, respectively.
According to the tipster, the forthcoming Ace 5 series phone is expected to have a flat display and will be powered by a Dimensity chipset.
It is projected to deliver high-performance tuning with an emphasis on effective heat dissipation, facilitated by innovative cooling technology. The device is also likely to achieve impressive benchmark results, positioning it as an appealing option for users seeking both high performance and value.
The leak indicates that the unveiling is scheduled for the second quarter of this year, although the specific name of the device remains uncertain. It is not yet clear whether it will be designated as the Ace 5s or the Ace 5V. The earlier leak from DCS mentioned that the device would feature a Dimensity 9-series chip, potentially the upcoming Dimensity 9350.
Additionally, it is expected to include a battery with a capacity of approximately 7,000mAh, along with specifications such as an 0809 vibration motor, a short-focus optical in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a plastic middle frame.
Furthermore, Redmi is anticipated to launch the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro with the Snapdragon 8s Elite in April of this year in China, while the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro is also expected to debut with the same chipset around the same timeframe. The aforementioned Ace 5 series is likely to compete with both the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro.
