Globally popular anime One Piece has announced an unexpected six-month hiatus in the broadcast of its ongoing Egghead Arc. The series is expected to resume its storyline in April 2025, marking the longest delay in its history. The shocking news was announced through a press release and One Piece’s Chief producer Ryuta Koike also explained during a special live-stream event why it will be absent until next April.
Fans know that Eiichiro Oda’s original manga is getting more exciting with each new release and now the anime team wants to “take this opportunity to make the anime even more powerful.” So, when it begins to air new episodes in its new time slot, fans can expect to see a revamped version of the much-beloved series.

Also, One Piece followers don’t be disheartened. To make up for the hiatus, Toei Animation will broadcast a reimagined edition of the Fish-Man Island Arc, which is reportedly updated and enhanced with new audio and visual touches. This special cut, which is supposed to be 21-episode long will consist of new animation sequences with an opening theme “We Go” by Kitadani Hiroshi, and the ending theme “Sailing” by BE:FIRST.
