The cause of Liam Payne’s death has been revealed. The former One Direction member passed away after falling from a third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31. According to a preliminary autopsy report, the 31-year-old singer died from ‘multiple trauma’ and ‘internal and external hemorrhage’ after falling from the hotel balcony.

According to the authorities, the singer was alone and under the influence of substances when he fell at 5: 07 pm on Wednesday. Payne may have suffered an ‘outbreak due to substance abuse’ before his tragic fall.

Police experts found narcotics, alcohol, and destroyed furniture in Liam’s hotel room. Earlier photos of his hotel room went viral on social media. The officers further stated that Payne was unconscious or in a disoriented state at the time he jumped off the hotel balcony. Previously, an audio recording surfaced online. One of the hotel staff had called the police to inform them about Payne’s disturbing behaviour. During the conversation, the staff stated that Payne appeared intoxicated and was destroying his entire room. Hours before the police arrived, Payne had already taken his life.

Following Liam’s shocking death, fans and celebrities including Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Paris Hilton paid tribute to the singer. His family released a statement that read, “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul.” The family members further requested everyone to respect their privacy.

Liam is survived by his parents, two sisters, and 7-year-old son, Bear, whom he welcomed with ex-Cheryl Cole in 2017.
