This update is designed to enhance cross-device functionality for users operating within Apple’s iOS and Microsoft’s Windows environments. The feature enables users to easily transfer files, documents, and more between their iPhones and Windows PCs in both directions.

To utilize this file-sharing capability, users must have an iPhone with iOS 16 or later, the Link to Windows app (version 1.24112.73 or newer), and Phone Link version 1.24112.89.0 or above.

Additionally, participation in the Windows Insider Program is necessary for early access to this feature. Users can set up the feature during the installation of Phone Link or by visiting aka.ms/addAccount on a PC if their devices are already paired. Once established, this functionality allows for two-way file sharing between iPhones and PCs.

To share files from an iPhone to a PC:
1. Find the file you wish to share on your iPhone.
2. Tap the share icon and select “Link to Windows.”
3. Choose the connected Windows PC to which you want to send the file.

To share files from a PC to an iPhone:
1. Highlight the file or files on your Windows PC.
2. Right-click and select “Share,” then choose “My Phone” or “Phone Link.”

Availability
This feature is currently being gradually deployed and is exclusively accessible to users enrolled in the Windows Insider Program. It necessitates that devices and applications are compatible and updated.
