Meghan Markle fell under massive scrutiny last month after allegations claimed the former working royal was a “bully”, a “dictator” in heels, who acted irrationally towards staff at the Sussexes’ Archewell company, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Now, one of her ex-employees has spoken out on the controversy stating they “feel sorry” for watching the Duchess of Sussex be branded “Duchess Difficult.”

In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Meghan’s former bodyguard Steve Davies claimed the Suits star was unfairly subjected to a “bad rap” by the media. Davies reportedly worked for Meghan in 2018 and continued to be a part of her security team following her engagement to Prince Harry.

“She gets a bad rap for being a not very good person to work with, that she was this evil person in the Royal Family,” said Davies. In light of the “bully” allegations, the former employee defended Meghan claiming she was never difficult to work with and that the Duchess respected everyone. “I saw her, from working at the studio to working with charities to working with dog walkers and cleaners. There’s one huge lesson I learned from her: It’s give respect to get respect,” he added.

Davies explained Meghan was “paranoid” after marrying into the Royal family, “I felt sorry (for her) because she’d gone from being a celebrity to being a member of the biggest family in the world.” What made the situation worse was the intense media scrutiny, “She was paranoid. We had people following us around everywhere we went. We had problems with drones, and vehicles chasing us. It was a nightmare.”

Meghan Markle also publicly opened up about her deteriorating mental health during the tell-all 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she spoke of feeling suffocated within the palace walls.
