They continue to tour regularly and have had several member changes over the last five decades. Former members remain significant to the band for their contributions to its history and its impressive repertoire.

“It’s about the legacy of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and what it stands for, what the fans are all about. There’s nothing like getting out there playing a great show with Skynyrd and seeing people love this music,” current lead singer Johnny Van Sant said of the steady touring.

The Canadian tour begins in Calgary Sept. 10 and ends in St. John’s on Sept. 25, with stops across the country along the way.

They perform with guest openers Outlaws at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on Sept. 12.

Tickets go on sale this week, with an artist presale running Tuesday at 10 a.m. to Thursday at 10 p.m., and general sale opening Friday at 10 a.m. Tickets and information can be found at lynyrdskynyrd.com/tour.
