Love is Blind, Habibi’s release date is inching closer and Netflix is leaving no stone unturned to promote their brand new dating show to the masses. Saudi actress Elham Ali and her husband Khaled Saqer, are hosting the reality series where Arab singles will connect and commit to marriage before meeting each other face-to-face. Now in a brand new trailer, Netflix has unveiled the ample highs and lows about to hit the romance and wedding territory of the participants.
In multiple glimpses, we see singles interacting through pods, cracking jokes, and getting to know each other better. The lovey-dovey feeling soon evaporates when drama ensues between couples leading to glimpses of the wedding day. One participant, in particular, appears confused about his final answer. “My heart was telling me ‘Go’. But my mind was telling me ‘No,’” he said. Watch the trailer below:
What is Love is Blind, Habibi all about?
The format follows the life of single women and men who go on a blind date as part of a social experiment. But there’s a twist, the term ‘Blind date’ breaks the conventional way in this world, because the eligible suitors meet separated by pods, they can’t see each other but only hear their date’s voice.
The pod dates go on for 10 days, wherein the suitors must find an authentic connection, to reach the next segment of the experiment. If an authentic connection is developed, the couples then decide to get engaged but ‘sight unseen’. This means the first time they see each other is the day when they propose and exchange rings.
Upon engagement, the couples are sent on a romantic holiday to get to know their partners better, leading up to D-Day, where they must decide if they are compatible enough to tie the knot.
Love is Blind, Habibi premieres October 10 on Netflix.
