There’s no doubt that Netflix’s dating series ‘Love is Blind, Habibi’ has the entire MENA community hooked. One of the suitors to join the social experiment, where Arab singles connected sight unseen, was Asma Sami, a regional marketing manager and entrepreneur. She was stuck in a love triangle of sorts with Mido and Khatab, and ultimately chose to pair up with the latter.
But their relationship took a tumultuous turn when Asma briefly dropped out of the experiment upon meeting Khatab face-to-face. Though not a good start, the couple returned to give their relationship a chance and they eventually became one of the three pairs to reach the wedding aisle. They didn’t tie the knot but decided to continue dating outside the show. Now, in the recently released reunion episode, it was confirmed that Khatab and Asma were mutually separated.
Not long after the release of the reunion episode, Asma posted a photograph with her “fairytale Habibi” and you can easily guess it wasn’t Khatab. Only the back of the mystery man is visible in the picture as the duo enjoyed watching fireworks together. It appears she was posing alongside one of her best friends, who she introduced Khatab to during her time in the experiment.
‘Love is Blind, Habibi’ reunion confirmed the reason behind the break up to be their conflicting professional choices. Khatab couldn’t give Asma much attention owing to his 9-6 job as an architect and his night-life career as a DJ. Though they’ve parted ways, the duo remain to be good friends.
