Hajar and Simo were one of the most controversial couples on ‘Love is Blind, Habibi‘. The ex-couple constantly argued. Their relationship even ended on a bad note. For those unaware, Simo left the show without informing Hajar. What was her reaction? The fashionista called Simo’s behaviour ‘childish’ and said it was his loss. After all the drama, the exes came face-to-face in the reunion episode of the dating reality show.
In the reunion episode, Hajar clarified her ‘tasting cake before going on a diet’ comment. In case you don’t recall, Hajar, in one of the episodes, while talking about bachelorette party said that she would love to do something crazy and gave an example of tasting a cake before going on a diet, meaning hooking up with someone else before committing to marriage.
When host Elham Ali asked Simo if he was offended by Hajar’s ‘joke’, he quickly responded, “It wasn’t a joke.” In her defense, Hajar said, “It was a figure of speech that was taken against me.”
She added,”He (Simo) said one of the things he liked about me is that I’m crazy, spontaneous, wear my heart on my sleeve and have no filter. He gave me an environment where I could feel safe, where I had freedom of speech. I could joke and say whatever I want. Does it mean I will do it? No. Does it represent me? No. Does it represent my culture? No.”
Hajar once again apologized before adding “I was in the wrong. It was a bad idea, figure of speech. Unfortunately, it was used against me.”
Simo and Hajar’s journey on ‘Love is Blind, Habibi‘: Simo, a retail business owner and contractor, and Hajar, a project owner, and a fashionista, formed a deep connection in the pods. Due to differences in opinions, they clashed multiple times. On one of the pod dates, Hajar made a distasteful comment when asked about the bachelorette party. She said that she would like to do something crazy and gave an example of ‘having a cake before going on a diet’. This didn’t go down well with Simo and he made her apologise.
Hajar said, “Sorry for choosing something low to say. Sorry, sorry, sorry. It’s not gonna happen again.” By the end of the date, they decided to bury the hatchet and got engaged.
Later, the couple got into an argument during their restaurant date. Hajar behaved rudely with a waitress and Simo called her out for it. That’s not all. During their vacation, things turned worse when Simo fought with Chafic at a group get-together. Hajar didn’t react to the fight nor did she make any attempt to stop Simo.
In a confessional, Simo said, “I had a problem. She didn’t support me. If a woman is not standing with me, no.” Disappointed by Hajar’s behaviour, Simo left the show without saying anything to her.
