Where there’s love, there is drama, and Chafic’s journey on ‘Love is Blind, Habibi’ is proof of it. The youngest male participant in the Netflix dating show fell in love with the youngest female suitor, Dounia. But their journey was far away from easy. The couple ended up exchanging several heated confrontations and one particular dispute arose from a jealousy conflict.
During the pods, Chafic garnered a reputation for being a “player”. The young entrepreneur was the number one choice for three girls Nour, Hajar, including Dounia. Nour also warned her fellow dorm members to keep away from Chafic, to make her claim public. But the male suitor rejected Nour and Hajar’s advancements, to give his priority attention to Dounia.
However, their journey wasn’t smooth sailing. During a group get-together, Nour refrained from acknowledging Chafic’s presence, which he found disrespectful. Additionally, it was also revealed that Chafic and Nour had interacted in the past on Instagram, so they knew each other from before joining the experiment. Which is why Dounia didn’t appreciate Chafic interacting with Nour.
Making the matters worse was Chafic getting into an intense argument with Simo over bringing up his and Nour’s past Instagram encounter. The duo had to be separated for the verbal scuffle to not turn physical. Now, in the reunion episode their dispute was one of the hot topics of discussion.
Dounia justifies her jealous reaction:
After Nour sarcastically advised Dounia to ‘boost her self-confidence’, the youngest female participant defended her jealous antics noting, “I think my reaction was normal for a girl when she’s with her fiance and sees something wrong.” In her savage response, Nour said, “Make your fiance control himself” which prompted things to become more nasty.
“I have the right to be jealous for him because I love him and I care for him it has nothing to do with you. It’s not about you. There are plenty of beautiful women in the world. We are all beautiful. God has given each of us our share of beauty. It has nothing to do with you being confident or thinking you’re prettier than me. It has nothing to do with that. It’s between me and Chafic,” a fierce Dounia responded.
And Nour didn’t sit back, “I won’t describe myself as perfect, nor will I claim to be. But I am an educated and a beautiful girl, a blend that’s hard to find.” And Dounia fired back, “Self-confidence doesn’t come from looks. I don’t just give him my body. I give him the whole package. Morals, upbringing, love, and compassion. A girl who respects herself, as she says, doesn’t flirt with an engaged man. She doesn’t talk to him that way.”
The infamous flirting controversy:
When Dounia accused Nour of being flirtatious with Chafic during the get-together, Mido, the ex-partner of the Lebanese model seconded her opinion. Host Elham Ali asked Chafic for his reaction to the entire controversy, he said, “I don’t want to disrespect her. Maybe she’s looking for ATM machine. Maybe the ATM machine is blind. I thinks she’s the kind of woman who prefers crying in a Ferrari than to be happy in a normal car.”
The heated confrontation turned messier when Chafic made fun of Nour’s looks, which prompted Karma and Hajar to join the conversation. “You’re bullying. You’re attacking girls,” Hajar said, to which Nour added, “Do you perceive them as men? Men who gather in a room and say we don’t spend on women! You’re not men. You’re a disgrace to men.”
In yet another twisted response, Chafic replied, “And you are on the top of the list but number one from down.”
