The Lokayukta officials on Tuesday carried out a series of raids against ten government officials in six districts across the State. The officials were found to have disproportionate assets totally worth over ₹48.5 crore to their known source of income.
After gathering information based on the complaints, several teams conducted raids in Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural district, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Chitradurga, and recovered properties and documents for verification.
The accused officials have been identified as Lokesh Babu, Superintendent Engineer, Bescom, BBMP revenue inspector Suresh Babu, BBMP tax inspector Krishnappa.
Officials also raided properties belonging to Sunil Kumar, District Health Officer in Bengaluru Rural, Nanjundayya, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Channapatna Police Training School, Lakshman, SDA, Executive Engineer Officer, Gadag, Ramappa, Superintendent Engineer (Assistant Commissioner), Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike, Ramesh, Excise Inspector, Koppal taluk, Raichur district, Suresh, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Hiriyur sub-division, Chitradurga, M.C. Sunil Kumar, District Health Officer, Bengaluru district.
Previous raid
In November this year, the Lokayukta police had seized assets worth ₹22 crore from nine government officials across the State when they conducted raids at 37 locations across the State.
