Former One Direction member and soloist Liam Payne tragically passed away after falling from Buenos Aires’ CasaSur Palermo hotel balcony on Wednesday, October 16. Many celebrities including Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Paris Hilton took to their respective social media handles and shared their grief over the singer’s untimely demise. Liam’s sudden death has also left his fans shocked.

Given how he passed away, an investigation is ongoing. According to an audio clip obtained from Buenos Aires’ security ministry, Liam might have reportedly been under the influence of drugs and alcohol. An audio recording of a distressing call to police from the hotel manager has gone viral on social media. It offers an insight into the events that led to Payne making the shocking decision.

The viral audio clip shows the hotel manager saying, “We have a guest who is on drugs and is destroying the whole room, so we need someone to come. When he is conscious, he is destroying the entire room, and we need you to send someone.” The manager also added that the guest’s life was at risk because their room had a balcony.

According to reports, the hotel manager heard a loud noise at the back of the hotel. When police reached, they found a man had fallen from his third-floor balcony. He was later identified as Payne.

The ‘Strip That Down‘ singer gained fame as part of the boy band, One Direction, which was formed on The X Factor. The group featuring Liam, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan went on hiatus in 2016. Since then, Liam had been enjoying his solo music career.

On the personal front, Liam became a father to son Bear with Cheryl Cole in 2017. They parted ways the following year but continued to co-parent their son. The singer was dating model Kate Cassidy at the time of his death.
