The new teaser trailer for James Gunn’s highly-awaited ‘Superman: Legacy’ was released across all platforms on the Internet and social media, much to everyone’s delight. 1. We finally see Krypto in the movie

Fans of the big blue boyscout were certainly delighted as Krypto The Superdog made his live action cinematic debut in the trailer. For those who aren’t aware, Krypto is Superman’s dog and like him, he is Kryptonian as well. Krypto possesses all of Superman’s powers including flight, invulnerability, super strength and more. However, his sense of hearing and smell is even greater than that of Superman.

James Gunn had previously shared a posted of his movie with Superman and Krypto overlooking the Earth. Krypto’s appearance in the DCU also raises a question whether we’ll see other super pets like Ace the Bat Hound who is the Bat family’s pet dog. Krypto had recently appeared in the season finale of Superman and Lois as well as DC’s Superpets movie.

2. A host of DC characters

Besides Krypto, the trailer also gives us a look at other characters from Superman’s comics and DC at large. We get a look at Lois Lane, Pa Kent as well as Superheroes like Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern. The trailer also gives us a look at Metamorpho, a hero who can turn his body into any element of his choice.

Interestingly, we see Superman also fighting a mysterious character in black inside a stadium. Rumors around the internet suggest this could be Ultraman, an evil alternate version of Superman. It could also be Bizarro, who was created by Lex Luthor as a copy of Superman. Speaking of which, we also get a look at Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor in the trailer.

3. Luthorcorp and Stagg industries

In the comics, Lex Luthor who is Superman’s arch nemesis owns Lexcorp, a company that rivals the likes of Wayne Industries. However, the trailer showcases Luthorcorp instead, which could indicate that Lex Luthor hasn’t entirely taken over the company founded by Lionel Luthor, Lex’s father.

Interestingly, the trailer also showcases Stagg Industries, another conglomerate in the DC Universe owned by Simon Stagg. Stagg is the primary antagonist of Metamorpho and is responsible for turning Rex Mason into the character. Simon Stagg was also in Wonder Woman 1984 as an investor in Maxwell Lord’s company. Could this mean we’ll also see Maxwell Lord in the film? No one knows for sure.

4. Superman and Boravia

In the comics, Boravia is a war-torn nation in Europe that’s facing turmoil. Boravia is in the midst of a civil war when Superman visits the country. He single-handedly stops the civil, making opposing parties come to an agreement, thus ending the war and giving Boravia peace.

I think that people are wrong about Boravia (Theory)

The trailer shows a little kid hoisting a cloth with Superman’s symbol as a flag and clings on to the pole. The kid proceeds to repeatedly take Superman’s name. We also see a news item showcasing the Boravian crisis on TV. Interestingly, the news channel ‘GBS news’ also makes an appearance in DC’s Creature Commandos.

5. Superman fights Kaijus, and bleeds

We see what appears to be a Kaiju fighting in the middle of Metropolis. The Kaiju also breathes fire and appears to be in Battle with Superman or some other hero. It could also be that this Kaiju is from Atlantis, setting up Aquaman’s possible appearance not in the movie but the DCU in the future.

The trailer also shows Superman hitting the ground in the first few seconds as he hits us with the ever-popular ‘Yamcha Pose’. Also worth noticing is that Superman looks battered and bruised as he struggles to catch his breath and is bleeding. Seems like Bruce Wayne won’t need to ask this Superman ‘Do You Bleed’?

6. The fortress of solitude

Finally, we see the Fortress of Solitude in the trailer. The Fortress of Solitude serves as Superman’s base in the North Pole. The place is also filled with robots who work in the upkeep as well as security of the base.

In fact, we see one of the robots in the trailer as Superman sorrowfully holds and comforts a robot who appears to be damaged in battle. This also is in line with James Gunn’s claim that Superman is already an established character in the universe.

The trailer has been well-received by fans and audiences alike, with many praising David Corenswet’s look as both Clark Kent and Superman. Superman will hit the theaters next year.
