‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ stars IU as Oh Ae-sun, a remarkable rebel, and Park Bo-gum as Gwan-sik, an unyielding iron, as they laugh, fight, and fall deeply in love through vibrant seasons on Jeju island. Set against the backdrop of the 1950s, the K-drama travels through time, space, and changing seasons, narrating a tantalizing love story between two daring souls.
But that’s not all. IU also portrays a double role in the Netflix series, first as Ae-sun and then as her daughter Geum Myeong. Their story is a devastating portrait of motherhood, marriage, and the choices of being a woman. But thanks to Bo-gum’s Gwan-sik, who has given us a remarkable example for being the greenest flag, as he relentlessly supports Ae-sun through all the phases of their lives.
Now, during an interview, when IU was asked if the show has made her consider marriage, the singer-actress said, “A husband like Gwan Sik and children like Geum Myung and Eun Myung, if that kind of family dynamic were guaranteed, then maybe (I’d marry),” per Koreaboo.
IU is currently in a relationship with Pinochhio fame Lee Jong-suk, and recently, when she was asked about his opinion on ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’, the actress revealed, “He’s really busy. So, I don’t think he’s had a chance to see it yet. At least, that’s what I assume since I know he’s been very busy.”
