After over two years, Angelina Jolie has withdrawn her lawsuit over the 2016 plane incident where she alleged that her ex-husband Brad Pitt had physically abused her and their children. She has dropped her lawsuit against the Department of Justice and the FBI, which involved records pertaining to the investigation into her former partner, as confirmed by E! News. This marks the end of the controversial legal chapter for the actress.

“The parties to this action hereby stipulate to dismiss this action with prejudice, with each party to bear its own fees and costs,” read the document as obtained by E! News.

For the uninitiated, the lawsuit was initially filed in 2022 under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), with Angelina identified in court as the anonymous ‘Jane Doe’. According to reports, Angelina had accused Brad of ‘physically and verbally assaulting’ her and their children, which caused them ‘lasting physical and mental trauma’. The allegations later coincided with an FBI report in which Angelina had accused her former partner of attacking her and one of their children during a flight from Europe to America on September 14, 2016.

However, no charges were pressed against ‘Allied‘ actor, as he denied the accusations. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19, 2016. They were declared legally single in 2019.

For the unversed, Brad is now dating Ines de Ramon.

On the work front, Angelina has been receiving praise for her performance in Pablo Larrain’s ‘Maria‘, whereas Brad starred in ‘Wolfs‘ alongside George Clooney.
