Andrew Garfield fell in love with his ex-girlfriend Emma Stone when they were filming ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘. After three years of dating, they called it quits in 2015. In 2016, Emma starred in Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-winning film ‘La La Land‘. She was paired with Ryan Gosling.

After the film’s release, many believed that ‘La La Land‘ was inspired by Emma and Andrew’s relationship. But is that true? The ‘Under The Silver Lake‘ actor recently addressed the crazy fan theory and told Esquire, “I guess people need something to believe in.”

The actor added, “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone.”

La La Land‘ stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a struggling jazz pianist and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love while pursuing their dreams in Los Angeles. Though the characters find success in the end, their relationship does not last. The musical romance film won many awards including Best Picture at the Oscars. For the uninitiated, Emma won the Best Actress award for her performance in the film.

It’s been years since Emma and Andrew broke up and moved on. While Emma is married to Dave McCary, Andrew is reportedly dating Katie Tomas.

On the work front, Emma will be seen in the science fiction comedy film ‘Bugonia‘, slated to be released in 2025. Andrew has John Crowley’s directorial film ‘We Live in Time‘ which will be released on October 11, 2024.
