According to Macrumors, the adapter has been marked as ‘Sold Out’ on Apple’s US website as well as in several other countries. Furthermore, the product remains available only in a limited number of countries, including France, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.
It is important to note that the tech giant first eliminated the 3.5mm headphone jack with the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The adapter was included with the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPhone X, but following the release of the iPhone XS and XR, customers were required to purchase the adapter separately.
This marked a significant shift for Apple, as it was the first instance of the company moving away from the traditional headphone jack in favor of the Lightning headphone adapter. Should the company proceed with the discontinuation of this adapter, it may signify the conclusion of a notable chapter in its product history.
The Lightning to 3.5-mm Headphone Jack Adapter enables the connection of 3.5-mm headphones and various audio devices to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch equipped with a Lightning connector. To use it, simply insert the adapter into the Lightning port of your iOS device and connect your headphones to the opposite end.
Conversely, the USB-C to 3.5-mm Headphone Jack Adapter facilitates the connection of 3.5-mm headphones and other audio devices to a USB-C port. To utilize this adapter, connect it to the USB-C port on your device and attach your headphones to the other end.
