The oldest models listed are the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, all of which debuted in September 2018. However, it should be noted that certain features of iOS 19 may not be available on older iPhone models.
If the information in this report is correct, it would mark the second consecutive year in which Apple has maintained support for all iPhone models during its major annual iOS update. iOS 18 will be compatible with the same iPhone models as its predecessor, iOS 17. Notably, iOS 17 discontinued support for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
In terms of iPadOS 19, there is somewhat less favorable news, as the report indicates that this update will no longer support the iPad 7 from 2019. However, it is reassuring that all other iPad models capable of running iPadOS 18 will remain compatible with iPadOS 19 in the following year.

The initial betas for iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are anticipated to be unveiled during WWDC 2025 in June, with the official updates expected to roll out in September. While there have not been many rumors regarding features for iOS 19, it is anticipated that Siri will evolve to become more conversational, akin to ChatGPT, in a subsequent iOS 19.4 update, which is projected for release around March 2026.
