Although this modification is not applicable to the iPhone 16 Pro models, there are speculations regarding its implementation in the iPhone 17 Pro models anticipated for release next year.
A recent blog post by the leaker known as Majin Bu, who has a variable success rate with Apple-related rumors, suggests that the process for removing the electrical battery will be implemented across all four models of the iPhone 17 set to be released next year. This includes the iPhone 17, the tentatively named iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
A leaker has disclosed an image of the new adhesive available in four distinct sizes, which likely correspond to the four models of the iPhone 17.
Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max continue to utilize stretch-release adhesive pull tabs for their batteries, similar to many earlier iPhone iterations.
Although this rumor has not yet been confirmed by other sources, the notion that the battery removal process could extend to all four iPhone 17 models appears to be a plausible scenario. Apple is anticipated to announce the iPhone 17 series in September.
