Hyundai, the South Korean automotive manufacturer, has introduced its latest flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, to the global market. This new model is a three-row electric SUV set to launch in South Korea and the United States in the first half of the upcoming year, with plans for subsequent releases in other international markets.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 boasts dimensions of 5,060 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, along with a wheelbase measuring 3,130 mm. The manufacturer reports a drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd, which is marginally superior to that of the Mercedes EQS SUV, recorded at 0.26 Cd.
The vehicle offers 620 litres of cargo space, expandable to 1,323 litres when the third row is folded down. Additionally, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) variants feature frunk capacities of 88 litres and 52 litres, respectively.
In terms of aesthetics, the Ioniq 9 showcases a rounded front design incorporating the brand’s Parametric Pixels, complemented by an upright tailgate and full-combination tail lights. Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, with an option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels.
The SUV is available in 16 exterior colors and seven interior options. Inside, the Ioniq 9 can be configured to accommodate either six or seven passengers. The front two rows are equipped with a massage function, while the second row features swiveling seats that allow passengers to face the third row.
Additional amenities include a panoramic sunroof, dual 12-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, multi-zone climate control, roof-mounted air vents, and 100W USB-C ports in all three rows. The audio system consists of an 8-speaker setup, with an optional 14-speaker Bose system capable of producing synthesized driving sounds.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is built on the brand’s E-GMP platform and is available in two trims: Long Range and Performance, both equipped with a substantial 110.3 kWh battery pack.

The Long Range variant offers both RWD and AWD configurations, while the Performance model comes standard with AWD. Hyundai claims that the Long Range version can achieve a maximum range of 620 km on a single charge, according to the WLTP cycle. The Ioniq 9 LR RWD generates 218 BHP and 350 Nm of torque.
