Tied with the University of Regina Cougars and University of Alberta Golden Bears, the Huskies will host the Pronghorns (6-6) for the first since 2023. The Huskies have dominated opponents as of late, earning wins by an average margin of 42.1 points.

Boasting the top offence and defence in the nation, the Dogs are averaging 81.7 points per game on offence while holding opponents to just 47.6 at the defensive end as one of only two teams nationally allowing less than 50 points.

On the men’s side the Huskies continue to search for their first win in 2024-25 and will take on the 9-3 Pronghorns on Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (7 p.m.).

V’BALL TEAMS IN WINNIPEG

After a clean sweep of the MacEwan Griffins on the PAC home court, the Huskie volleyball teams are in Winnipeg to take on the Wesmen in a meeting of potential future Canada West playoff teams.

The third-place Saskatchewan men (10-4, ranked No. 8 nationally) take on second-place Wesmen (11-1, ranked No. 3) in a meeting of Top 10 programs. The red-hot Dogs are coming off their best stretch of the season, having won four straight matches in which they’ve lost just two sets.

The Huskies (16-4), ranked No. 7 in the latest U Sports Top 10, currently trail the No. 4-ranked Golden Bears by four points with a pair of games in hand, giving extra importance to the weekend series.

Meanwhile, the Huskie women are back on the road after taking three of four points against the Manitoba Bisons. The Huskies are set to face off with the No. 3-ranked Alberta Pandas for the fifth time this season.
