Following an anonymous bomb threat emails sent to Medchal District Collectorate, the Cyberabad police conducted a thorough check at the complex in Shamirpet on Thursday.

According to the police, the anonymous bomb threat email was received around 7.30 a.m., claiming an explosion was timed for 3.30 p.m. on Thursday.

“It was clearly sent with the intention of teasing with different religious references in the start and end of the email,” said an official from the Shameerpet police.

Following a complaint from the Commissionerate, about 10 officials, including those from Shameerpet and Petbasheerabad police, and five members of the squad team, reached the spot. The threat turned out to be a hoax as no suspicious material was found on the premises.

Efforts are underway to trace the sender.
