Late actor Heath Ledger and Andrew Garfield shared screen space in Terry Gilliam’s directorial film ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus‘. Recently, Andrew appeared on the ‘Happy, Sad and Confused‘ podcast and looked back on his time spent with the late actor while filming TMODP, just after Ledger had wrapped up shooting ‘The Dark Knight‘.
Andrew shared that Legder was confident about ‘The Dark Knight‘. The actor said, “He had just done the Joker, he had just finished doing The Dark Knight, and he was so smug about it. I was like, ‘How did that go?’ and he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s really good.'”

When Andrew and Heath collaborated, the former was a rookie, while the late actor was already a big star. He had given hits like ‘10 Things I Hate About You‘, ‘A Knight’s Tale‘, and ‘Brokeback Mountain‘. Andrew quipped that one of the many lessons he learned from the late actor came from Ledger’s reaction to being on a magazine cover.
Garfield shared, “I remember his like, Empire magazine cover came out and he was like, ‘Oh, they used a f—ing s— photo’. And I was like, ‘Are you kidding me, dude that looks f—ing incredible’. And he was like, ‘Nah, the pose is all wrong, it looks kinda like a conventional version of what an actor… you’ll see’. And yeah, I did see.”

‘The Dark Knight‘ was released in July 2008, months after Ledger passed away. For the uninitiated, Heath was found dead in his apartment on January 22, 2008. As per reports, he died from an accidental overdose of prescription medications, including painkillers and sleeping pills.
When ‘The Dark Knight‘ was released, it emerged as a blockbuster.
On the other hand, Garfield was last seen in John Crowley’s ‘We Live In Time‘, co-starring Florence Pugh.
