Known for her terrific performances and outspoken personality, Halle Berry has never shied away from sharing her opinions. The actress is known for standing up for herself. Recently, Halle reacted to ‘X-Men‘ director Matthew Vaughn’s claim about the franchise sending the actress a fake script to trap her into saying yes to play the role of Storm in ‘X-Men: The Last Stand‘.

X-Men: The Last Stand‘ was directed by Brett Ratner. The film was originally supposed to be directed by Matthew Vaughn. In 2023, Vaugh revealed that he quit as director of the 2006 film after discovering the studio had created a fake script to lure Berry into saying yes to play Storm.

Speaking at the New York Comic Con, Vaugh said, “Hollywood is really political and odd. I went to an executive’s office and I saw and X3 script. It was a lot fatter. I asked, ‘What is this draft?’ They were like, ‘Don’t worry about it.'” The filmmaker added that he grabbed the script and opened its first page which had a scene featuring Storm saving dehydrated Africa with a thunderstorm.

He went on to add, “They said it was the Halle Berry script. ‘She hasn’t signed on yet, but this is what she wants it to be. So once she signs on, we’ll throw it in the bin’. I said, ‘Wow, you’re going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress? I’m out of here.'”

Berry, who came across the video, thanked Matthew for bringing the ‘dark to light’. “Ya just never know the shady s*** going on behind ya back!,” she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Given that Halle was not aware of what was happening behind her ended up doing the film. Apart from her, ‘X-Men: The Last Stand‘ also starred Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Ian McKellen among others.

On the other hand, she was recently seen in ‘Never Let Go‘.
