Park Seo-joon recently appeared on singer Sung Si-kyung’s YouTube channel and opened up about his struggles with bullying during his childhood and how it deeply affected his personality.

The ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?’ actor shared that he was ‘extremely shy and introverted’ as a kid. When asked if he was ever bullied at school, Seo-joon responded, “In elementary school, I was bullied a lot.” The actor described those years, particularly from the 1st to the 4th grade, as ‘incredibly difficult’. “It was hell,” he admitted, explaining how the bullying affected his self-esteem.

“I hated that part of myself until my third year of middle school. I felt like an idiot because I couldn’t speak up,” shared Seo-joon.

It was acting that changed things for him. It helped him gain confidence and he was able to talk ‘a little bit’. “It was the first time in my life I found something I genuinely wanted to do, so I gave it my all,” said Seo-joon. Through years of hard work and dedication, he transformed himself from the shy kid he once was into the confident actor he is today.

Park Seo-joon is one of the most successful South Korean actors. He has been a part of K-dramas like ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?‘, ‘Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth‘, ‘She Was Pretty‘, ‘Fight For My Way‘, and more.

The actor was recently seen in the second season of ‘Gyeonseong Creature‘. He shared screen space with Han So-hee in the same. While the K-drama received a mixed response from the viewers, Seo-joon earned praise for his performance.
