Among the many things to do and explore this weekend, the lights at the annual Enchanted Forest and holiday markets are a sure sign the holiday season is set to begin.

1 — Explore the holiday lights

Presented by the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation, the 26th annual BHP Enchanted Forest offers a longer route and more displays than ever before. The tour opens with a lights walk on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The drive-thru lights display starts Saturday and runs nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Jan. 5. 2 — Laugh with the Soaps

The Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy present Unconventional. Learn improv secrets from industry leaders and self-proclaimed experts as they offer a keynote address, training sessions and networking opportunities that promise to leave you just as confused as when you arrived. Prompted by audience suggestions, the improv comedy troupe brings laughter to the stage. The show is Friday at the Broadway Theatre at 8 p.m. Learn more at broadwaytheatre.ca.

3 — Shop an artisan market

Tiger Lily Artisan Market is a fine craft Saskatchewan-made market, featuring works by more than 60 artisans from across the province. Spanning all three floors of Remai Modern, the market features a bar and coffee, VIP early access, and elevator accessibility. The market runs Friday and Saturday at the museum. 4 — Attend a book discussion

Saskatchewan Anshohk Writers Circle Inc. and Harper Collins Canada present an evening with Anishinaabe author Tanya Talaga. In conversation with Lisa Bird-Wilson, Talaga discusses her best-selling book The Knowing, which unfolds Canadian history through an Indigenous lens. 5 — Celebrate 15 years with Saskatchewan’s largest film festival

Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival celebrates 15 years with a 10-day festival featuring more than 60 films. The program includes a special event with Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy, a 10th anniversary screening of the Saskatchewan-made film WolfCop followed by a question and answer session with director Lowell Dean, and a 50th anniversary screening of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Returning events include the cartoon party, drunken cinema and virtual Q and As with filmmakers. The festival runs at the Broadway Theatre Friday through Nov. 24. Learn more at skfilmfest.com.
