“It’s a nice family night,” said LaSalle’s Rob Maclean, joined by his wife Teija and daughter Adelyn. “I always enjoy the marching bands and the kids love seeing the horses and dogs.

“It’s a good thing for downtown Windsor.”

Windsor’s Zachery Dereniowski, also known as MD Motivator on social media, was this year’s parade grand marshal.

Dereniowski, who uses social media to give away thousands of dollars and kick off fundraising campaigns for people in need, spread the holiday cheer by surprising a lucky family with $1,000 during the parade.

“It’s our daughter’s first Santa Claus Parade,” said Windsor resident Anthony Taylor. “I used to go every single year as a kid, so I’m excited for her to get to experience this.

“It’s nice that it’s back downtown, it’s a lot better.”
