Tesla recently hosted an event titled “We, Robot” at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, where the highly anticipated robotaxi was unveiled, marking a significant element of the company’s future expansion plans.
During the event, CEO Elon Musk took the opportunity to inform investors about the advancements in the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, which he asserts will be pivotal for Tesla’s sustained success. Musk commented on social media platform X, stating, “We constructed a futuristic world,” in reaction to images shared by an attendee.
Elon Musk has revealed that the forthcoming self-driving Cybercab will be priced below $30,000, with production anticipated to commence in 2026. This pricing is notably lower than the current entry price of the Model 3 sedan, which surpasses $42,000, particularly after Tesla eliminated the base rear-wheel-drive variant in light of recent tariffs imposed on components sourced from China.
Tesla has also introduced a Robovan concept alongside the Cybercab, which is a larger autonomous vehicle designed to accommodate up to 20 passengers simultaneously. The unveiling of both the Cybercab and Robovan underscores Tesla’s commitment to entering the autonomous transportation sector.
