A four-time champion, Alexander was followed by Chuck Menard, who had a total of 1,082 in five games in the open division. The 40th qualifying spot sits at 894.
In the senior division, Joe Amarel posted the top score with 817 in four games with John Fairlie second at 801 with the cut line for the 15th and final spot at 699 heading into the final weekend of qualifying.

Vipers fall in OT
The LaSalle Vipers dropped a 2-1 overtime decision on the road to the Strathroy Rockets on Saturday in Western Conference play in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Brendan Gouin had the Vipers (23-14-1-0) up 1-0 after two periods, but the Rockets (19-14-1-1) tied the game with just over six minutes left in regulation and got the winner in the first minute of overtime.
Admirals upend 73’s
The Amherstburg Admirals scored a 3-2 shootout win over the Bill Stobbs Division-leading Essex 73’s on Saturday, but then fell 8-1 on the road to the Blenheim Blades on Sunday in Provincial Junior Hockey League play.
Freddie McCroy had the lone goal for the Admirals (18-16-1-2) against the Blades (18-18-2-0).
On Saturday, Brett Jones and Jayden Seguin scored in the shootout to give the Admirals the win while Drew Booker and Brady Drouillard scored in regulation. Luke Sherk and William Claridge had the goals for the 73’s (31-3-0-1) with Matthew Crawford scoring in the shootout.
Meanwhile, the Wheatley Sharks won a high-scoring match over the Walpole Island Wild by an 8-5 count. Stefan Jacobs and Vito Alfano each scored twice for the Sharks (20-17-1-0) with Seth Zylstra, Josh Chauvin, Colton Selwood and Jaxon Turnbull adding single goals against the Wild (4-28-2-0).

Lancer basketball sweeps
Both the women’s team and the men’s team posted back-to-back road win over the Algoma Thunderbirds in OUA basketball play.
After trailing by three points after the first quarter, the Lancer roared back for a 70-56 win on Saturday. Reine Ndome had 12 points to lead the Lancers (13-4), who share top spot in the West Division. Leah Tate finished with 10 points against the Thunderbirds (1-15), who fell 64-40 to Windsor on Friday.
The men’s team also started slow on Saturday and trailed by seven points after the first quarter, but rallied to take the lead by half. Simeon Smith had 19 points to lead the Lancers (9-8). Emanuel Otong had 14 points, Yashar Greaves-Saadat finished with 13 points and Ryan Wasylshyn added 10 points against the Thunderhawks (0-16), who fell 86-57 to Windsor on Friday.
Lancer hockey swept
The Windsor Lancers men’s hockey team could not complete a home-and-home sweep against the Western Mustangs in OUA hockey play.
The Lancers, who won 4-1 in London on Thursday, fell 6-3 to the Mustangs on Saturday at home.
Aaron Shaw scored twice for the Lancers (13-9-0-0) with Logan Linklater adding a single goal against the Mustangs (12-9-1-0) and Keegan McMullen picking up two assists.

The women’s team fell by a single goal for the third game in a row. Makayla Mailhot had the lone goal for the Lancers (11-6-3-1) ) to tie the game in the second period, but the Laurier Golden Hawks (13-6-0-1) got the winner midway through the third period for a 2-1 victory.
Saints basketball sweeps
The St. Clair Saints men’s basketball team rolled to a 92-67 OCAA road win over the Fanshawe Falcons on Saturday while the women’s team scored a 57-55 win over the Falcons.
The men scored the game’s first 13 points and cruised to the victory. Jacob Masters and Ethan Reid-Massiah, off the bench, each had 17 points to lead the Saints (13-2). Mazin Tiea and Elijah Loder-Frame each added 10 points against the Falcons (4-11).
For the women, Kaelyn Batten hit the winning shot in the final minute to break a tie and lift the Saints (5-8) against the Falcons (7-6).
Shae-Lyn Murphy paced the Saints with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Batten finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven steals.
