In 2021, Coldplay and BTS came together for the song ‘My Universe‘ and it was received well by the fans of both groups. After it was released, it grabbed top spots in charts and streaming platforms. Now, in a recent interview, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin opened up about the collaboration.

Chris, who is a huge fan of BTS, heaped praise on the members (RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, V, Jungkook, and Jimin). When asked about the experience collaborating with the K-pop boy group, Chris told Rolling Stone, “It turned out to be the most uplifting, natural collaboration. I would do anything for those guys at any time. They were so good. They made the song so great.”

The singer-songwriter further recalled an amusing moment during the recording process when he tried to sing in Korean. Chris said, “I tried to sing fake Korean in the break in the pre-chorus – which I hope no one ever hears, because A, it’s probably wrong to do that on some level, and B, it sounded ridiculous. But then I called RM from BTS and said, “Here’s how it goes.” And he said, “No problem.” They wrote their lyrics and then all their ad-libs.”

Chris further mentioned that at first, they were all nervous but it worked out well. “Now we’re a boy bond of seven really good-looking young Koreans and one old white guy, and it’s totally fine,” added Martin.

In 2022, Jin released ‘The Astronaut‘ as his debut solo single in collaboration with Coldplay. He also made a guest appearance at Coldplay Buenos Aires concert and performed the song with the band. Now, Coldplay is set to perform in Seoul on April 16, 18, 19, 22, 24, and 25 in 2025. ARMYs believe Jin might make an appearance as a special guest.
