Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on April 3, and discussed political developments in Karnataka.

The Chief Minister has reportedly discussed names of candidates for the four vacancies in the State Legislative Council.

More than two dozen aspirants, including journalists and veteran party leaders, have been lobbying for the seats.

During the one-on-one meeting with Mr. Gandhi, the Chief Minister apparently discussed the honey-trap allegations made by Minister K.N. Rajanna in the Legislative Assembly, the gold smuggling case involving the stepdaughter of an IPS officer, and the quota allocated to Muslims in civil contracts.

On April 2, Mr. Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues had participated in the inauguration of the newly-constructed Karnataka Bhavan ‘Kaveri’, in Delhi.
